Celebrate National Reading month with Muffins & Books

The Bay County Public Library will hot Muffins & Books at Daffin Park on March 18.

8-10 am March 18 at Daffin Park, 320 North Kraft Avenue, Panama City. The City of Panama City along with the Bay County Public Library will host Muffins & Books to Celebrate National Reading month. The celebration will unveil seven Little Libraries throughout the city that will be placed Daffin, Oakland Terrace, Frank Nelson, and Lanie Rowe parks. Representatives from the Bay County Public Library will be on hand to issue library cards and the Bay County Free Library On Wheels, or FLOW, will be there passing out books. The second annual Florida Luxe Arts Festival hosted by the Bay Arts alliance is an exciting, interactive arts festival that combines street chalk art installations with live music, art projects, and creative vendors, and fun for the entire family. Four national chalk artists, Naomi Haverland, Anat Ronen, Jan Riggins, and Chris Carlson will create 3D, interactive pieces for the public to enjoy. Local artists and schools will participate. Watch a T-Rex race at the Chamber Block Party

The Bay county Chamber of Commerce will hold their 9th Annual Block Party on March 24.

5-7 pm March 24, Bay County Chamber, 235 West Fifth Street, Panama City. The 9th Annual Chamber Block party will include free food, drinks, live entertainment and family fun. New to 2022 will be the the T-Rex Relay Race. Participants dressed in inflatable T-Rex costumes will compete in a relay that consists of three competitive mini-games as you race for first place. Entertainment will be performed by True Soul, an R & B / Soul band from Panama City. Hundreds of community businesses and residents are expected to attend the event as the Board of Directors serves food donated by Chamber member restaurants.
